Scaffolding Stevenage

Stevenage splits neatly between the New Town estates — long terraces and semis with shallow roof pitches and tight rear access — and the older properties around the Old Town, where frontages sit close to the pavement and a scaffold often needs a highway licence.

Alpine is a family-run scaffolding company covering Stevenage and the surrounding Hertfordshire area, working from a yard on Brunel Road in Stevenage. Every job — domestic, commercial or industrial — gets a free survey and one written price before anything arrives.

Whatever the building, the process is the same: somebody comes out and looks at it, the access is designed around what is actually there, and you get a written price covering erection, the hire period and the dismantle before anything arrives.

If the scaffold stands on a pavement or verge anywhere in Stevenage, Stevenage Borough Council requires a licence. We apply for it, deal with the conditions they attach and build to them — it is one of the things that most often holds a job up when it is left late. Scaffolds entirely on a drive or private ground do not normally need one.

Scaffolders in Stevenage you can check up on

There are plenty of scaffolding companies covering Stevenage. What separates them is usually what you cannot see from the pavement: whether the structure is tied properly, whether it is inspected on schedule, and whether the price you agreed is the price you pay. Alpine is CHAS accredited, rated 5.0 on Google, and every scaffold is tagged and inspected before anyone works from it.
